American Food!

Mcdonald's burger and Fries is a popular American meal and is also popular among Filipinos. It is very delicious that you wont care about the calories and fats that you would get when you eat it!

The hamburger, a ground meat patty between two slices of bread, was first created in America in 1900 by Louis Lassen, owner of  Louis' lunch in New Haven, Connecticut. There have been rival claims by Charlie Nagreen, Frank and Charles Menches, Oscar Weber Bilby, and Fletcher David.

White Castletraces the origin of the hamburger to Hamburg, Germany with its invention by Otto Kuase. However, it gained national recognition at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair when the New York Tribune namelessly attributed the hamburger as, "the innovation of a food vendor on the pike." No conclusive claim has ever been made to end the dispute over the inventor of the hamburger with a variety of claims and evidence asserted since its creation.

Pinoy naman!

Proben is the newest and most delicious street food here in Cagayan De Oro. It is s a type of street food popular in some regions of the Philippines. It consists essentially of the proventriculus of a chicken, dipped in cornstarch, and deep-fried. It is served either in a small bagful of vinegar, or skewered on bamboo sticks to be dipped in the vinegar just before it is eaten.

Proben is popular among students. Usually after class, students would visit their "suki" to buy proben. I love eating proven especially during rainy seasons. I used to eat it afterclass when i am running out of money for snacks. Proben really is convinient to students who are "kuripot" because it is very affordable. For only 5 pesos, you get to eat 1 stick containing 4 pieces of proben. Usually i eat 2 sticks of proben and 1 puso and im stuffed! it only cost me 15php. Truly amazing! However, Proben is obviously unhealthy to eat.

A nutritional study conducted by UPLB noted that, as with most street foods, the microbial quality of the proben is a concern. However, the study noted that the pathogenic food-borne microbes in proben are mostly destroyed when it is cooked. The microbes only return if the proben is stored at ambient temperature after having been cooked.

The study concluded that the risk of contamination can be reduced simply "through practice of personal hygiene employing standard cooking temperature (171-185 deg C) and time (10-15 min)" and by making sure that the proben is cooked just before it is eaten. The same study showed that the nutrient content of newly cooked proben was "crude fat(31%), fiber (131%), carbohydrates (21%), caloric contents (935%),

Italian food

Just hearing the word "lasagna" makes my mouth watery. Lasagna has always been my favorite food ever! It is is an Italian dish made up of  alternate layers of pasta, meat sauce, and cheese. Lasagne originated in Italy, in the region of Emilia-Romagna. A traditional lasagne bolognesi is made by interleaving layers of pasta with layers of sauce, made with ragùbechamel, and Parmigiano-Reggiano.

In other regions and outside of Italy it is common to find lasagne made with ricotta or mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce, various meats (e.g., ground beef, pork or chicken), and miscellaneous vegetables (e.g., spinach, zucchini, mushrooms). In all cases the lasagne are oven-baked. Lasagne is typically flavored with wine, garlic, onion, and oregano

I first ate lasagna when i was in grade school. My sister took  me to "greenwich" after class and we ordered lasagna and i fell in love with it! Who wouldn't? I've always dreamed of learning to make lasagna someday. i even downloaded some video tutorials of it but the problem is that we don't have oven at home and its ingredients are kind of expensive. i guess my only option for now is to dine in a food chain and order lasagna.

Greenwich, for me, is the best place to order lasagna. For 79php you can already have a serve of it though i think its too small for me but sege nalang. Its too delicious that i cant complain!
